I am looking to create an online flight logging website for general aviation pilots. I am knowledgeable about basic web development but do not have the time to undertake the learning process of creation and development.
Basically, users must have an account and upon creation, be able to create a flight log. Each user may have one to as many as several hundred flights logged (eventually). Each user must have his/her own page and have their flights listed on each page.
Each flight will contain data about the actual flight including length, destination, etc. The programmer will be given a list of exact fields upon selection.
I would prefer development in Ruby on Rails as this is a simple object-oriented project, but am willing to receive bids from programmers working with PHP. Cold Fusion and ASP need not apply.
Note: this does NOT include design. I will have that done separately.

Hello All,
Please only bid on this project if you can accept Escrow payments. Also, please don't fabricate reviews/false previous work. Thanks!
We need a clone of www.tinychat.com which is built mostly in Flash and Ajax. We require only text capibilities. No Video and Audio support required at this point in time.
Look and feel of the Chat rooms should be like TinyChat. Also the functionality will be a little different:
- We don't need the PRO accounts option at this time.
- Login and Registration need to be exactly the same as tinychat.
- Users should be able to register/own a channel and control it.
- Private mesagging system
- Abuse reporting capabilities.
- Users should be able to make a room private or open
- It should scale: capability to have 5,000+ chat rooms with 500,000 concurrent users.
- Other functions should work very similar (if not better) to tinychat's.
- Preferably based on Ruby on Rails
Please bid on this project ONLY if you have experience and can show previous Flash projects/RoR in your portfolio.
Once we agree to work on this project, there will be no price adjustments. We will need to have full rights on this system.
Bid is for the whole project. We are looking for a long term relationship.

We need to have an app for iphone, blackberry and android.
The app will connect to a website that is running on ruby on rails to retrieve and display data. It should also maintain a local cache.
The website maintains a calendar of webcast events.
The app will allow users to search through a list of audio events and play the event including live events. The backend server will be running wowza media server that will provide the appropriate live stream. There will also be a calendar screen with a list of these events and their scheduled time. The user should be able to set alerts for the different events from the calendar or add these events to his phones calendar. There will also be another screen that will allow the user to modify his settings on the website/app. Also, the app will include a subscriptions feature for the user to subscribe to the various data that he is using on the app on a monthly basis. Certain data such as live event streaming will only be available to paying users.
The selected programmer would need to be familiar/capable with Ruby on Rails, linux environment, iphone, blackberry and android development. I would prefer one team to handle the entire project rather than split between iphone and other platforms.
For those who bid, please provide further info about your specific capabilities. The timeline of this project is very important and after award it has to be completed within 3 weeks.

I need somebody who can create a simple (live) micro-blogging site. The majority of it will take place on the home page. Members will be able to post comments for everyone to see (both members and visitors). The comments will be about a specific topic. So if the website is about favorite movies, members will be able to type in a movie title, and a short comment.
Anyone will have the option to give the "tweet" a Thumbs up (+1pt) or a Thumbs down (-1pt).
Based on this voting, there will be 3 other sections on the home page:
(...using the movies example...)
-Top Recommendations: recommendations that have received the most points
-Top members: members that have received the most points (clicking on a member will expand the most recent comments about it)
-Top movies: titles that have been mentioned the most (clicking on a title will expand the most recent comments about it)
These you could arrange by: Today, This Week, This Month, Year, etc...
THAT'S IT.
It is extremely important that the design is simple and beautiful. I have made a rough drawing a of a template that you could take a look at and see if it works.
Although the site will not be about movies, this is exactly how it will work.
Thanks.

US based start-up is looking for a RoR developer to support development of an application that relies on HTML5, SaaS, and Haml. Ability to write DRY code is a must. Having a public repository on something like GitHub is a must to for evaluation purposes.
You'll be responsible for some interface development (including all the markup and Javascript required) as well as some backend work, like the controller code for the views you build, as well as importing and exporting various models in various file formats.
You'll need to be well-versed in these areas:
Interface and interaction design
Standards-based, cross-browser compatibile HTML and CSS
Ruby on Rails
Javascript, especially jQuery
Nice things to know that we'll teach you if you don't:
Haml and Sass
The new stuff in HTML5 (we've got a lot of <section>s)
Extra bits we'd love to see:
Experience with the Excel format
Experience interacting programmatically with Craigslist (we know, there's no API)
Experience writing Javascript that JSLint likes
The position is available immediately and should last a few weeks.
We are looking for someone who can work 25 to 40 hours a week for the next three weeks.
We are paying $1000 for 120 hours worth of work.

We are looking for an expert ROR developer who is familiar with active_merchant, spree e-commerce and creating rails plugins/extensions. We need someone who is able to take ideas and concepts and code them.
For the first project, we need to take an existing shipping extension and add to it. The logic is as follows:
1. If the cart total is greater than $100, the ENTIRE order qualifies for free shipping AND/OR
1.1 if the cart has great than $25 worth of t-shirts, the ENTIRE order qualifies for free shipping
for example
1. a cart has $9 worth of t-shirts and $80 worth of shoes (cart total = $89), the cart total is less than $100 = NO FREE SHIPPING, and there is less than $25 worth of t-shirts = NO FREE SHIPPING
2. a cart has $26 worth of t-shirts and a $70 pair of shoes (cart total = $96), the cart total is less than $100 = NO FREE SHIPPING, but there is more than $25 worth of t-shirts = FREE SHIPPING ON THE WHOLE ORDER.

I need to have a web site built that allows people to post issues about their dating life, and for others to vote on what those people should do. I a complete wire-frame of the site.
The developer needs to be able to write DRY, standards compliant code. Also, the developer should have a strong graphic design appreciation as there is light graphic design needs for this project.
The building of this should take no more than 2 or 3 full days. I would like it built by the end of this week and will need to installed on our remote servers in two forms.
I have attached the wireframe to this posting.
MY BUDGET FOR THIS IS $300. Thanks.
